Bio

My bike career began in 2006 when I got a job in a bike shop in Asheville, NC. In 2008 I purchased a small singlespeed component brand called EndlessBikeCo. and I've been running EndlessBikeCo which is probably the tiniest component brand in the industry ever since. That's also the first year I discovered the Wingnut 3.0 and I've been hooked ever since.

How did you discover Wingnut? I discovered Wingnut in probably 2008 through Pisgah Productions events and my friend Eric Wever. I haven't used any other brand of bag since!

What is it about outdoors and adventure that you love? The freedom, the challenge, the unknown and of course being on the other side and realizing "holy shit that was hard and I did it!" Outdoors and adventure shows me I can do hard things and then sometimes life doesn't seem so difficult and the daily bullshit doesn't seem so important.

What are your top three outdoor activities? Mountain biking is number 1. I was a whitewater kayaker in a past life and would still say that being on the water is a top 3 activity. I actually bought a Airtight Inflatables Shredder last summer so I can get back out there! The other top 3 activity would be putzing around in my garden with my cat or hiking with the dog.

What is important to you about your gear & why? Well, firstly, my gear has to be durable. We only get one Earth and I'm kinda tired of it being filled with shit that has been made to fail or at least not last very long. I want to buy things that last for years! I love Wingnut bags because they are very durable and they're incredibly light. As a mountain bike skills instructor I often need to carry lots of things like a comprehensive first aid kit, a tire pump, a shock pump, extra clothes and tools and sometimes other gear in case things happen. I don't need my bag to weigh a bunch and then fill it with all of that stuff. I love that Wingnut bags are soooo freaking light! They look good too!

If you could plan a bucket list trip what would it be? OMG!!! There are so many places I would go! There just isn't room to name them all but my gal pals will definitely be there!

How big is year gear closet? Do my bikes fit in that gear closet? My gear closet isn't huge because I try to purchase things that will last and last. I do have gear for mountain biking, whitewater kayaking, backpacking and snowboarding though. I also try to purchase things that can be used for multiple sports. I'm more of a minimalist for environmental reasons.

What is your favorite picnic lunch, location and with who? Ooohhh!! I love this question! My favorite picnic lunch would be my Wingnut bag filled with a big ole gnarcuterie mat (IYKYK) with a water bottle of wine and some beers at the top of whatever amazing trail in Pisgah or Sedona or the PNW with my partner Randy and all of our friends!

Please explain your job or commitment to outdoors and adventure I'm a PMBIA level 3 certified Professional Mountain Bike Skills instructor and PMBIA Instructor Trainer as well as a Level 2 Leave No Trace Instructor (formerly Leave No Trace Master Educator). I basically eat, sleep and breathe the outdoors and help facilitate other folx improved understanding, skills and confidence to pursue their own outdoor adventures as well. I do my best to educate mountain bikers to not only ride better, safer and with more confidence and style but how their riding can be a detriment to the land we recreate on or how we can do better in leaving no trace on the land. That's really important to me. I love what I do everyday!
