Rodney Villella

Rodney works in Finance and lives in New York City (where he was born and raised) with his girlfriend and race partner Amy Bartoletti. Rodney loves the outdoors and has always been very active. Outside of work Rodney and AMy spend much of their time pursuing different types of adventures and traveling as much as possible. Both Rodney and Amy are part of Team HYPE, along with Jay Zech and Jeffrey Woods.
Team HYPE was formed in late 2002 to raise awareness about all the false media sorrounding rap music currently circulating the globe. The team gets its inspiration from sidekick rapper Flavor Flav of Public Enemy fame. His controversial and thought provoking artistry moved Team Captain, Rodney Villella (a.k.a. "Rasta Rod"), to "teach the bourgeoisie" and rid them of their misconceptions about rap. Although the team is still in a legal battle with Flavor Flav over the use of his lyrics from the song "Don't Believe the Hype," they are currently training with a vengeance.
Well at least that is what their Team Bio sys...
Team HYPE was actually formed from their old team "Salmon/Eco-Fishnet" (a spoof on Salomon/Eco-Internet). Changing the team name was ROdney's attempt to pretend that they moved up n the AR scene fro mjust a gof ball team to an actually "sponsored" team.
Team HYPE's long term goals are to continue to do more expedition length races.
